Magnetic Bead DNA/RNA Purification Kits

Go to Geneaid websiteThe MagBead Kits are designed specifically for isolating Nucleic Acids from a variety of sampe types. The unique buffer system and chaotropic salts are used to lyse cells and degrade protein, allowing for the Nucleic Acid to be easily bound by the surface of the magnetic particles. Unwanted Nucleic Acids and other non-specific binding particles are removed with a Wash Buffer, and the desired Nucleic Acid is then released into the release buffer. Manual sample processing can be completed within 45 minutes (using most magnetic separators) or the kits can be easily adapted to satisfy most automated Nucleic Acid purification systems
MagBead DNA/RNA Purification Kits are available in the following formats:

  MagBead Plant Genomic DNA Kit1
MagBead Buffy Coat Genomic DNA Kit1
MagBead Whole Blood/Cultured Cell genomic DNA Kit1
  MagBead Bacteria Genomic DNA Kit1
  MagBead Tissue Genomic DNA Kit1
  MagBead Viral DNA/RNA Kit2

The purified nucleic acids are suitable for:
Note 1: The genomic DNA can be used directly in Restriction Enzyme Digests, Southern Blots, PCR and qPCR assays.
Note 2: The viral DNA/RNA can be used directly in qPCR and qRT-PCR assays.

Plasmid/Cosmid Purification Kits

Go to Geneaid websiteThe Plasmid DNA Purifcation kits use a modified Alkaline Lysis method and RNase treatment to obtain clear cell lysate with minimal genomic DNA/RNA contaminants. In the presence of chaotropic salt, plasmid DNA in the lysate binds to the glass fibre matrix used. Contaminants are removed with a Wash Buffer (containing ethanol) and the purified plasmid DNA is eluted by a low salt Elution Buffer or TE. In the case of the Plasmid Midi and Maxi and corresponding Endotoxin Free kits, the Plasmid DNA is bound to an anion exchange resin instead of a glass fibre matrix. Using an efficient gravity-flow procedure, plasmid DNA in the crude lysate is bound to the anion exchange resin in the column and the contaminants are removed with the PW Buffer. The purified plasmid DNA is eluted by a high salt buffer and then precipitated with Isopropanol for desalting.
Plasmid and Cosmid DNA Purification Kits are available in the following formats:

The High-Speed Plasmid Mini Kit is designed for the rapid isolation of plasmid or cosmid DNA from 1-4mL of bacterial cultures1

Viral Nucleic Acid Purfication Kits

Go to Geneaid websiteDNA/RNA viruses are lysed quickly and efficiently when exposed to the lysis buffer which is a highly concentrated solution of chaotropic salt.
